How to obtain your firearms license
- Determine the requirements of the law enforcement agency (Police Dept.) in the town where you live. Check the town/city website.

- The following is a list of things you may need to complete the application depending on the requirements of your town law enforcement agency. For any questions, please contact your town’s licensing officer.
-Birth certificate
-Personal statement
-Letters of recommendation
-Certificate of completion of a firearms safety course certified by Mass State Police and taught by
Mass State Police certified instructor. (Required) - Charlie Maligno (Training Coordinator) at (781) 799-8447 or email: lawman4414@comcast.net to sign up for the required certified firearms safety course for LTC (License to Carry). Weymouth sportsmen’s club has many NRA/MA State Police certified instructors.
- After completing the steps above, set up an appointment with the licensing officer in your town.
Once your application has been submitted, allow several weeks to receive your LTC License
