We offer NRA certified instructor courses in pistol, rifle, shotgun, personal protection, home firearm safety and certified range safety officers. We have a Girl Scout troop is in residence and Boy Scouts who use our outdoor facilities for various activities. Wednesday evenings our junior group, ages 11 to 18, meet from 6:30 to 8:00pm. General member meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend! See calendar for dates.
In November 2002 The Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club, established in 1929, had its club house burned to the ground, by a fire of suspicious origin. Only the foundation remained. Early in 2003 we began to visit nearly every shooting facility in the area. Each of the clubs visited gave us more ideas for our new building. In late 2006 the “new” Weymouth Sportsmen’s Club reopened. Because of its close proximity to residents, we tried to make the building resemble a large house. We are really pleased with the results. Construction was done by the Ryder Development Corp. of Weymouth.
Beside the outside appearance our new building has little in common with the old structure. In the new building we have town water and sewage, four handicapped bathrooms and central heating and air conditioning. The premises are protected by a sprinkler system, monitored fire and security systems as well as surveillance cameras.
