How to obtain your firearms license
- Determine the requirements of the law enforcement agency (Police Dept.) in the town where you live. Check the town/city website.

- The following is a list of things you may need to complete the application depending on the requirements of your town law enforcement agency. For any questions, please contact your town's licensing officer.
-Letters of recommendation
-Certificate of completion of a firearms safety course certified by Mass State Police and taught by
Mass State Police certified instructor. (Required)
-Money - $100.00 required for Class A LTC, $25 for class D FID card (Required)
- Contact Dick Striano at 781-264-2884 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for the required certified firearms safety course. Weymouth sportsmen's club has many NRA/MA State Police certified instructors.
- After completing the steps above, set up an appointment with the licensing officer in your town.
Once your application has been submitted, it may take 5 to 6 weeks to get your license.
